Admission Process
and Requirements
WHAT YOU´LL NEED?
In this section, you will find important information that should be taken into consideration when preparing for your admission process.
We would ask you to read the instructions carefully, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us: studyinmexico@itesm.mx
STEP ONE:
Determine your status. Are you an Exchange or Independent Student?
You are an Exchange Student if:
Your university has an existing exchange or study abroad program with Tecnológico de Monterrey. If so, you must be nominated by your university’s exchange program office. In most of the cases, you will pay tuition directly to your home university, if you are not sure, please check directly with your International Programs Office.
You are an Independent Student if:
There isn’t any exchange partnership between your university and ours. If that’s your situation, then you apply directly to Tecnológico de Monterrey. You will be required to pay tuition and directly to Tecnológico de Monterrey.
STEP TWO:
Fill out the Application for Admission.
EXCHANGE STUDENT:
- If you are applying as an Exchange Student, you first need to be nominated by your home university. Please contact your study abroad advisor for more information about how to study at Tec de Monterrey as part of an exchange. Please do not fill out the Application for Admission before being nominated because it will be discarded.
- Once your nomination is sent, you will receive an email with a personal link to fill out the Application for Admission. In the application, please select the category of EXCHANGE STUDENT.
- In the application you will need to upload the following document:
- Copy of your passport (must be valid* and legible, you only need to upload the page containing your information).
- Copy of your passport (must be valid* and legible, you only need to upload the page containing your information).
*Your passport must be valid when you apply and for the whole duration of your studies in Mexico.
Remember enrolling as an exchange student means that you will pay tuition directly to your home institution.
INDEPENDENT STUDENT:
- Due to a limited number of spots available to international non-degree students in our course offer for the Spring Semester of 2023, we are suspending the admission of all visiting, free-mover students who are applying for this semester until further notice.
- We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hopefully, we can soon reestablish our admissions soon. If you have any questions, please contact us at studyinmexico@itesm.mx
Once you submit your application we may request additional documents or information.
Please have in mind that for some specific academic programs such as internships and research projects, among others, you will need to follow a separate evaluation process to be considered as a candidate.
You must have an international medical insurance that covers specific amounts and the period you will be studying at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
You must have a valid immigration document for the academic period in question. Please review the following link in order to learn more https://www.gob.mx/inm
After your admission, you will be contacted by the international office from the campus you are registered in with more information related to your arrival, course selection, and housing application, among other important considerations you need to have in mind.
If you are applying for some type of scholarship in your country, you must take into account that it will not be possible to have your letter of acceptance until you have completed all the requirements indicated on this page and be admitted to Tecnológico de Monterrey. Giving you a final answer takes some time, so we ask you to start this process in advance.
